Woman safely escapes house fire

Fire reported in 1900 block of West Gramercy Place

SAN ANTONIO – A woman escaped safely from her home after it caught fire early Wednesday on the near Northwest Side.

A woman who lives in the home in the 1900 block of West Gramercy Place told firefighters that she woke up before 6 a.m. and found her curtains on fire near an air conditioning unit.

A fire official at the scene said the fire appeared to have started in the living room.

The fire was put out quickly.

A cause is under investigation.
