SAN ANTONIO – Even though the San Antonio Spurs dominated the Houston Rockets Wednesday night in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals, the Spurs lost star point guard Tony Parker in the fourth quarter with less than 9 minutes remaining.
Parker, who turns 35 on May 17, had to be carried off by the court by his teammates after he exploded to the basket, landing on his right leg and then dropping to the court in pain.
He tried to limp off the court at first, but then had teammates carry him to the tunnel leading to the team locker room where a wheelchair was waiting for him.
Parker had an MRI Thursday morning, and Spurs confirmed that Parker has suffered a ruptured left quadriceps tendon.
Spurs fans immediately took to social media following Parker's departure from the game, sharing their sympathy and mourning No. 9's potentially devastating injury.
