Manu Ginobili turns 39 today; Look back at some great 'Manu moments'

Ginobili prepping for Olympics, 15th NBA season with Spurs

SAN ANTONIO – Today is Manu Ginobili’s 39th birthday. The native Argentinian and Spurs star is preparing to take part in his fourth Olympic games next month in Brazil.

Ginobili recently signed a 1-year deal worth $14 million to return to the Spurs next season. It will be his 15th season with the franchise.

Ginobili has spent his entire NBA career with the Spurs and has become a beloved figure in San Antonio and internationally.  

His creativity and enthusiasm on the court plus his array of Eurostep moves, needle-threading passes, backward layups and clutch shots have become iconic.  

Ginobili was a vital part of four Spurs championship teams and won the gold medal with Argentina in 2004.

Spurs legend David Robinson wished Ginobili a happy birthday Thursday on his Twitter account.

Robinson and Ginobili played only one season together, Manu's first year with the Spurs and Robinson's last. That season ended with a championship in 2003.
