SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon has been offered the University of Florida women’s head basketball coaching position, according to The Vertical.
Sources tell The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski that Hammon is considering a lucrative offer by Florida, but the decision will be difficult because she wants to stay on a path to become the first female head coach in NBA history.

Hammon joined the Spurs as an assistant coach in August 2014, becoming the the first full-time, salaried female coach in NBA history.
She coached the Spurs summer league team to a championship in July 2015.
