MIAMI - The Miami Heat finally landed their big man last week.
This morning, that big man finally landed in Miami.
Center Greg Oden arrived in South Florida on Monday morning, his first trip to Miami since inking a two-year deal with the Heat last week.
Oden told Local 10's Aiyana Cristal that he was heading straight to the American Airlines Arena to get to work.
Oden said, "It's been a long road, 3 long years for me not playing basketball and I'm just happy. "
Having not played in three years, Oden is expected to take a slow and measured approach to his NBA comeback.
Oden added, "I feel pretty good, you know it is still some work in progress, it's going to be a long road for me. But, I feel good."
Oden wants to be a part of Miami's championship run, "I hope to contribue in any way. My main goal is to play basketball again and to be a part of this team. I hope I can bring something to this already great team."
