Pedestrian killed on city's West Side

Accident reported at 5:30 a.m. on Highway 151 near West Military Drive

SAN ANTONIO – A man was hit and killed by a car Monday morning on the city's far West Side.

San Antonio police Sgt. Steve Priore said the man was hit at around 5:30 a.m. by a Honda Accord as he tried to cross Highway 151 near West Military Drive.

Priore said the victim might have been the subject of an earlier police call.

"The officers relayed to me that there was an earlier call about somebody dancing on or near the road, and sometime later this major accident (happened)," Priore said.

The driver of the car wasn't hurt, but he was shaken up by the incident. He will not be facing charges, Priore said.

The victim was later identified as Carlost Manuel Saenz, Jr., 52.
