Construction worker injured in hit-and-run accident on NW Side

Accident occurred just after 1 a.m. on Loop 410 EB access road near Bandera Rd

SAN ANTONIO – A construction worker was taken to an area hospital after being hit by a car overnight, San Antonio police said Tuesday.

The accident occurred just after 1 a.m. on the Loop 410 eastbound access road near Bandera Road on the city's Northwest Side.

Police said the worker was putting out barrels when a driver clipped him. The 33-year-old man had his ankle broken and was experiencing shoulder pain. He was taken to University Hospital for his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle who caused the accident did not stop, police said.

So far, a description of the vehicle has not been released. 

The investigation is ongoing.
