Motorcyclist killed in South Side neighborhood crash identified

Manuel V. Rodriguez, 70, died Sunday in 11500 block of Plover Place

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner's office has identified the name of the person killed in a motorcycle crash on the city's South Side.

Manuel V. Rodriguez, 70, was killed Sunday in the 11500 block of Plover Place when he lost control of his bike and hit a curb before being thrown into a parked car.

Police are investigating the crash, but they say Rodriguez may have been riding too fast through the neighborhood. 

Rodriguez died at the scene.

A man is dead after crashing his motorcycle on a South Side neighborhood street Sunday afternoon.

The fatal crash happened just before 1 p.m. in the 11500 block of Plover Place near the Mission Del Lago golf course.

Police say it appears the man lost control and hit a curb, tossing him from the bike and into a car parked in a driveway.

EMS arrived and pronounced the man dead next to the parked car.

Police are now investigating the crash, but say the man might have been riding too fast through the neighborhood.
