Driver killed in head-on collision with concrete mixer truck identified

Green Mountain Road at Loop 1604 has reopened following crash

SAN ANTONIO – The driver of a pickup killed following a head-on collision with a concrete mixer truck early Friday morning has been identified, San Antonio police said.

Joseph Randall, 21, was driving a black Ford F-150 northbound on Green Mountain Road at Loop 1604 when he crashed into a southbound concrete mixer truck around 6 a.m., San Antonio police said.

Police said the concrete mixer truck was on its way to a delivery when Randall began to veer into its lane before crashing head-on.

Randall was airlifted to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he later died, police said.

Green Mountain Road was closed for much of the morning as emergency crews worked at the scene.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, police said, and no charges are pending.
