Police looking for 2 people involved in hit and run accident

Accident occurred just before 12:30 a.m. on East Elmira St., Brooklyn Ave.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are looking for two people involved in a hit and run accident on the city's North Side overnight.

The accident occurred just before 12:30 a.m. on East Elmira Street and Brooklyn Avenue, found north of downtown just off Interstate 35.

Police said a silver car was taking the exit ramp from I-35 and turning on a green light when a red sport utility vehicle heading down the access road ran a red light and broadsided the car.

According to witnesses, a man and a woman jumped out of the SUV and took off on foot. 

The passenger of the silver car was rushed to Methodist Hospital downtown. 

The latest information is that the driver will be alright.

So far no arrests have been made in the case.

The investigation is ongoing.
