SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio Police department motorcycle officer was injured in an early morning collision with a car, officials said Friday.
The accident occurred just before 7 a.m. on Rigsby Avenue near Semlinger Road on the city's East Side.

Investigators say the officer was heading westbound on Rigsby when the driver of a PT cruiser pulled out in front of him.
The officer was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for scraps and bruises but he may also have some internal injuries, officials said.
"This officer did what he was trained to do. When he saw that the vehicle had pulled out in front of him, he laid down his bike and tried to minimize that collision the best he could," officer Doug Greene, the San Antonio Police Department spokesperson said.
Two people were inside the other car -- an adult and one young child. They were not hurt, Greene said.
Investigators said they are looking into the factors that may have contributed to the crash but it appears to be an accident. At this time, no charges are being filed.
