SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police responded to two separate fatal accidents Sunday morning on the city’s South Side.
The first accident happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Southeast Military Drive near Mission Road.

According to police, a man in his 50s was crossing the street in a motorized shopping cart when he was hit.
The driver told police he didn’t see the man. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after, on Zarzamora Street near Fitch Avenue, another man was killed, also while crossing the street.
The driver who hit him told police she saw two cars slowing down, but didn’t know why. When she finally saw the man in the road it was too late to avoid hitting him. He died at the scene.
Neither drivers are expected to face any charges.
