SAN ANTONIO – Drivers on San Antonio's West Side will most likely experience traffic delays this weekend on Loop 1604 in areas of Shaenfield Road and Highway 151.
The delays will be to due to traffic shifts as crews work to construct new expressway lanes between Bandera and Culebra roads, according to TxDOT.

The two main goals of this weekend's work is to:
Shaenfield Road intersection
The closures will begin at 5 a.m. Saturday as crews turn off the traffic signals on Loop 1604 at the temporary turnarounds and the new intersection at Shaenfield Road.
TxDOT said off-duty police officers will direct traffic until the intersection opens, which is expected to be by noon Saturday.
Traffic will be down to one lane in both directions during this time.
Highway 151
Starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, the main lanes of Loop 1604 at Highway 151 will close in both directions.
Crews will begin working to set bridge support beams for the direct connector.
During the closure, southbound and northbound Loop 1604 traffic will exit Highway 151. Southbound traffic will re-enter Loop 1604 after Highway 151. Northbound traffic will be forced to turn around at Wiseman Boulevard to access Loop 1604.
Saturday's work is scheduled to stop at 4 p.m. The closure at Highway 151 will be repeated on Sunday.
