Showers expected around SA area Monday morning

SAN ANTONIO – KSAT 12 meteorologist Mike Osterhage said a few showers will be around the area Monday morning, as well as into the afternoon. Highs are expected to be in the upper 80s.

Osterhage said we will get a chance to dry out the rest of the week.

Another chance for rain could move in on Friday and last into the weekend.

The National Weather Service says scattered showers and maybe an isolated thunderstorm can be expected along and east of Interstate 35 and parts of the Hill Country. The area remains saturated so any additional rain will likely create ponding of water on roadways, underpasses and poor drainage areas.

Nixon-Smiley CISD is closed Monday morning due to the wet weather. Bridges are under water in Smiley.  However, the DAEP campus in Smiley will be open so parents who can get there should come and register. (Disciplinary Alternative Education Program).
