Man, 29, killed in West Side gas station shooting, police say

Shooter left scene on foot

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating a fatal shooting at a gas station on the city’s West Side.

The shooting happened Tuesday night near Cupples and Castroville roads.

Police said some individuals pulled up to the gas station. They got out of the vehicle and walked to the store’s entrance.

As they approached the door, a passenger and someone leaving the store exchanged words. After a few minutes, the person leaving the store pulled out a gun and shot the man leaving the store and then left the scene on foot, police said.

Police said the person killed in the shooting was a 29-year-old man.

Multiple shots were fired from a small-caliber handgun, police said.

It’s unclear what led to the shooting, but police are interviewing witnesses to get more information.
