An SAPD officer has died from injuries he received in a car crash December 10.
The department Saturday evening confirmed the death of Officer Edrees Mukhtar.

Police say he died at University Hospital just before 4:30 Saturday afternoon.
Mukhtar had been at University since crashing his patrol car en route to a call early on Dec. 10.
After that crash a department spokesman said it appeared Mukhtar had hit a wet spot in the road on Medical Dr. near Horizon Hill.
His car hit a curb and a truck before slamming into a tree.
The department says Mukhtar was 28 years old and had been an officer since May 2011.
No funeral details had yet been announced.
