Justified or out of line? Texas school bus driver walks out on kids

BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas – Surveillance video has been released of a former southeast Texas school bus driver who walked off the job last week.

According to KPRC-TV in Houston, video shows a male student throw something in the direction of the driver.

The driver then asks a student to hit a red emergency button and pulls over on the side of the road with more than 50 students on the bus.

The driver is seen making a phone call and telling someone on the other end, "You need to send somebody to get this bus and these kids. I'm done. I can't take it anymore."

The fed-up driver waited outside the bus with the keys in hand for about 20 minutes until a back-up driver and a district official arrived.

The Columbia-Brazoria Independent School District said the driver resigned after the incident, but parents are calling for criminal action.

The CBISD police chief tells KPRC-TV the investigation is ongoing.
