Candy-carrying 18-wheeler flips on I-35

Driver says load headed to convenience stores

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – It was a not-so-sweet ride Saturday morning for the driver of a truck loaded with candy.

That driver told Bexar County deputies his 18-wheeler loaded with sweets flipped as he drove on Interstate 35 South near Loop 1604 around 11 a.m.

The rig fell over on its side and landed in the highway median, so the impact on traffic was minimal, officials said.

The driver wasn't hurt in the accident.

He told deputies the candy in the 18-wheeler was headed to convenience stores.
