SAN ANTONIO – The $700 million Powerball jackpot drawing is Wednesday, and it’s the second largest prize pot in U.S. history.
So far for the fiscal year 2017, there is a total of $52,886,038 in unclaimed lottery prizes in Texas.
Of that money, $46,683,075 has been given to the foundation school fund and $1,298,080 has been given to the Texas Veterans Commission.
While Wednesday’s jackpot is less than the $1.6 billion prize won by three people in January 2016, it’s still got America running out to buy tickets.
