Reasons for putting La Vernia ISD superintendent on administrative leave still unclear after meeting

LA VERNIA, Texas – A lot of questions were left unanswered after a meeting to decide the fate of the La Vernia Independent School District superintendent.

Dr. Trent Lovette was put on administrative leave last week. The district has not said why that action was taken.

Board members deliberated for three hours Wednesday. They plan to meet again Dec. 4.

The school board released the following statement to the public during the meeting:

“As the Board of Trustees, we understand that this process brings about questions and speculation. We hope you maintain trust in this process and that we have the best interests of the District, staff, and students in mind. This is a personnel matter that we cannot comment on. Our attorneys have updated us on the status of the investigation and will continue with the investigation. We anticipate another Board meeting scheduled for December 4th.”
