Camp Bullis dining facility project on hold after military funds diverted for border wall

SAN ANTONIO – Military City USA will be impacted by projects put on hold by the federal government to divert funds for a border wall.

The Office of Public Affairs for the secretary of the U.S. Air Force said a Camp Bullis dining facility is on the list of affected projects.

Officials noted they were not scheduled to be awarded the money — about $18.5 million — until the middle of next year.

The secretary of defense approved $3.6 billion to build part of President Trump's border wall. Dozens of other projects were also paused across the country.

Construction on the wall, including segments in El Paso and Laredo, is expected to begin in about four months.
