Hondo woman accused of sexual assault of runaway child

HONDO, Texas – A 19-year-old Hondo woman has been arrested for sex crimes against a child after harboring a runaway for months, Hondo police said.

Jennifer Lynn Alvarez,was arrested in November and charged with sexual assault of a child. She was released on a bond of $7,500, according to Medina County Jail officials.

After further investigation, Alvarez was arrested by Hondo police again on Jan. 7 and charged with sexual performance by a child and harboring a runaway. She was released Jan. 8 on bonds totaling $30,000.

The victim has been located and returned to family members.
