Young Fort Bliss soldier found dead in barracks on New Year’s Eve, report says

The circumstances surrounding Pfc. Asia M. Graham’s death are still under investigation

A 19-year-old Fort Bliss soldier was found dead in her barracks on New Year’s Eve, according to a report from KVIA-TV.

Pfc. Asia M. Graham, of North Carolina, was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead by Fort Bliss emergency personnel. The circumstances surrounding her death are still under investigation by U.S. Army officials, according to KVIA-TV.

The Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Armored Division, sent their condolences Saturday to Graham’s family, friends and fellow soldiers in a social media post.

Graham was a human resources specialist that was assigned to the 1-501st Attack Battalion, 1st Armored Division Combat Aviation Brigade, according to KVIA-TV.

During her time of service, she was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon, KVIA-TV reports.
