RECORD HIGH TODAY?

Those blazing hot temperatures we saw over the weekend will bleed over into today and tomorrow. Highs will be in the 102°-103° range. Should we hit 103° today, that would tie a record high for the date last set in 2013. Lower humidity levels during the afternoon will keep heat index values in check.

FIRE CONCERNS

While we haven’t really talked much about grassfire potential due to July’s rainfall, it’s dried out enough that the threat is starting to return. This is especially true for those areas east of I-35. Here’s today’s fire danger forecast. San Antonio sits in a “high” threat, while North Texas will see an “extreme” fire threat.

RAIN CHANCES

The heat high makes a move west by midweek. While subtle, it may be just enough to open the door for some energy moving north to south. Isolated showers and a storm or two will be possible Thursday afternoon. This may also help to drop high temps slightly.
