Police searching for person who shot man at West Side motel

Victim expected to recover from wound to upper body

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for the person who shot a man at a West Side motel late Sunday night.

Officers who answered the call around 9 p.m. found the victim at the Paradise motel, located in the 4900 block of W. Commerce.

They said he suffered a non life-threatening gunshot wound to his upper body.

The victim, who is in his 50s, was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Police say the shooter took off in a car which later returned to the scene.

However, the shooter no longer was inside the car when it returned, police said.

They searched the area for that person but came up empty-handed.

Officers were not able to say right away what led to the shooting.
