2 teens found wounded after shooting at West Side playground

Same gunman shot both teens with rifle, police say

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police believe two teens who were found at two different West Side locations were shot by the same person.

They say the shootings happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday on the playground of an apartment complex in the 5600 block of Culebra Road.

Officers found a 16-year-old boy at the scene with a gunshot wound to his head. He was rushed to a hospital by ambulance and was in critical condition at the time.

Police say the second victim ran to a gas station around the corner to look for help. He had been shot in his arm.

Witnesses described the shooter as a man, dressed all in black and carrying a rifle. He was gone when officers arrived and they were not able to find him.

They did not know right away why the teens were shot.
