San Antonio City Council approves CPS Energy rate hike

San Antonio – CPS energy has postponed a project in Southwest San Antonio due to severe weather concerns, the utility announced Sunday.

The project was initially set to take place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Loop 1604 West and Highway 151 corridor.

CPS officials said the project involves removing and installing overhead power lines across Loop 1604 and “is part of plans to support reliability.”

The utility has not yet set a new date for the project to take place. When the project does get underway, CPS officials said there will be rolling traffic stops on both sides of 1604 highway and access roads.

There will also be traffic control in the area through the duration of the project.
