At the time, he was wanted for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault of a family/household member and violation of bond/protective order.

In April, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest for the assault of a family/household member, DPS said.

Through the investigation, authorities found him in Von Ormy and arrested him on Wednesday.

DPS said he was previously convicted and sentenced for weapon possession, robbery, bail jumping and evading arrest/detention with a vehicle.

The agency announced that another fugitive was arrested on the same day in Austin.

Kim Eugene Cooks, 56, was listed as a top 10 most-wanted sex offender and had been wanted by Austin police since September 2021.

Austin police issued a warrant for his arrest for assault with injury-family violence. In November 2021, Killeen police issued a warrant for his arrest for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

DPS said Cooks was previously convicted of sexually assaulting a woman and child, aggravated assault, and drug charges.
