An off-duty Von Ormy police officer was stabbed while working at a rodeo event late Sunday night, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 1820 block of South Jett Road, not far from Highway 16 and Loop 1604 in South Bexar County. According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, the off-duty officer was working at the event when they were stabbed in the lower leg. At this time, the exact details of the stabbing are not currently known. The sheriff’s office did not identify the suspect or say what charges they now face.

VON ORMY, Texas – A 2-year-old child was killed in a tragic accident at her family’s residence in Von Ormy, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. The incident happened at 11:16 p.m., Saturday, at a residence in the 4400 block of Throne in Von Ormy, southwest of San Antonio. Deputies said a family member was backing their vehicle out of the driveway, did not see Garcia-Hernandez behind them, and ran her over. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the BCSO. “Investigators were able to determine this was purely just a tragic accident,” the BCSO said in a statement.

SAN ANTONIO – A man accused of striking a Von Ormy police officer with his car has been arrested on suspicion of intoxication assault, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. The officer had stopped to help block traffic for a stalled 18-wheeler early Friday morning. The officer was exiting the car when a vehicle crashed into the rear driver’s side of the marked patrol unit, striking the officer. The officer suffered a serious head injury and had to be airlifted to University Hospital. The southbound lanes of Interstate 35 at Loop 1604 were closed following the incident but have since reopened.

SAN ANTONIO – A police officer with Von Ormy was airlifted to a hospital after a vehicle struck their patrol car on Interstate 35. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said the wreck occurred around 1:30 a.m. on the main lanes of Interstate 35 near Loop 1604 on the Southwest Side. The officer was exiting the car when a vehicle crashed into the rear driver’s side of the marked patrol unit, striking the officer. Airlife was dispatched to the accident and the officer was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries, BCSO said. The southbound lanes of Interstate 35 at Loop 1604 were closed following the incident but have since reopened.
