Mitchell was a 68E Dental Specialist at Joint Base San Antonio and was on holiday leave at the time of her death.

She was celebrating New Year’s Eve at the 4th Quarter Sports Bar and left the bar alone at 2 a.m., authorities previously said.

At 2:08 a.m., a vehicle of interest was captured on camera traveling behind her Charger before she was shot with a high-powered rifle. She was taken to University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Her family previously told KSAT that she left behind a son, and “was a wonderful mother.”

“In his smile and facial expressions, she is there,” said Ashley Mitchell, her sister. “To see how happy her son is, she did an excellent job with him. Everything she did, she did for him, and she loved him to infinity and beyond.”

The Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for credible information in the case.

Anyone with information about her killer or any witnesses is asked to call Army CID at 210-221-1050. Information can also be reported anonymously to CID Crime Tips here.
