Cleanup underway after train derails in Central Texas

No one was injured, police say

AUSTIN – A train derailed in Travis County on Monday morning, causing a small gravel spill and road closure.

In a Facebook post at around 5:20 a.m., the Manor Police Department said the train derailed near East Parsons and North Lockhart streets.

No one was injured, but there was a minor gravel spill, police said.

South San Marcos Street is closed at the tracks as the train is waiting to be moved.

Police said the cleanup is expected to last until about noon on Monday.

Manor is located northeast of Austin.
