San Antonio Parks & Rec hosting two tree-giving events this April

Hundreds of trees to be given out to locals

SAN ANTONIO – Time to grab a friend and plant some roots! The San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department’s Urban Forestry Team has two opportunities for people to get a free tree.

The tree-giving events will be held Saturday, April 15, and the following, April 22, at two different locations.

The Parks and Recreation Department said it will give out 350 fruit trees at the first event and 1,200 shade/ornamental trees at the second event while supplies last.

Saturday, April 15

Farmers & Artisans Market

  • Mission Marquee Plaza
  • 3100 Roosevelt Ave
  • Sat., April 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • 350 fruit trees will be given out while supplies last

Saturday, April 22 (Earth Day)

Woodlawn Lake Park

  • 1103 Cincinnati
  • Sat., April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • 1,200 Shade/Ornamental Trees will be given out while supplies last
