SAPD investigating after man found dead along Interstate 37 in Southeast Bexar County

Police believe he was hit by a vehicle

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating a possible hit-and-run after a man was found dead along Interstate 37 in Southeast Bexar County.

A preliminary report from SAPD states that a person called 911 around 8 a.m. Tuesday and reported a body along the northbound Interstate 37 access road near Braunig Lake.

Police believe the man was struck by a vehicle.

Authorities were initially called to the scene at 11 p.m. on Monday for a report of a man on the side of the road, but that person was not found by police or Bexar County deputies, the report states.

SAPD said the person may not have been located Monday night due to overgrown grass and the lack of light.

The victim’s name is unknown, but police believe he was in his 30s-40s.

This investigation is ongoing.
