Gutierrez leads Texas Senate in emotional ceremony honoring Uvalde school shooting victims

Resolution presentation recognized 19 students, 2 teachers at Robb Elementary

AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Senate on Wednesday paid tribute to the 19 students and two teachers who were killed in the Robb Elementary shooting.

There were 21 memorial resolutions, one for each of the victims.

Sen. Roland Gutierrez, who represents Uvalde where the shooting occurred, read four of the tributes. Several other senators also read tributes.

“Today we rise to honor the people we lost that day. And we ask God to protect them,” Gutierrez said.
