Driver killed in crash involving box truck, 18-wheeler in west Bexar County

Crash happened on Monday afternoon at Highway 90, Highway 211

SAN ANTONIO – A driver was killed when his box truck collided with an 18-wheeler along Highway 90 in west Bexar County on Monday afternoon.

The crash happened just after 3:30 p.m. at the Highway 90 and Highway 211 intersection, near Medina Valley.

A report from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office states that a small box truck traveling westbound on the Highway 90 access road didn’t stop at the intersection and crossed in the path of an 18-wheeler.

Both vehicles collided and the driver of the box truck was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene. BCSO did not identify him.

The driver of the 18-wheeler suffered minor injuries and was released. No charges are pending and the crash is under investigation.

State Highway 211 was closed following the crash but the lanes reopened after several hours.
