Floresville Independent School District is considering moving to a four-day school week for the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the district’s website , 68% of staff, parents and students surveyed said they support a four-day school week.
A breakdown of survey results can be found here.
“The primary reasons the district is considering a shorter school week are to retain and attract quality teachers and staff and provide quality instruction for students, boost student well-being, and maintain strong student and staff attendance,” said a district official in an email to KSAT.
A final calendar option will be presented to the Board of Trustees on March 3.
At that meeting, district officials will either approve the proposed four-day week or reject it.
