So how was a small electric company that is fed energy from CPS in San Antonio able to stay on? “Our customers so far have been doing what they need to be doing,” Low said. “Our guys are sitting here looking at where the load is and we’re moving stuff around to keep us from having outages,” Low said. As of publishing, just under 7,000 customers in San Antonio were still without power, it was previously more than 300,000 customers.
Soto helps spur Southside's four-game winning streak

FLORESVILLE, Texas – A veterans home in Floresville has been dealing with another COVID-19 outbreak that has so far infected 40 residents and 14 staff members, according to the Texas General Land Office, the state agency that oversees the facility. The Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville is testing its residents and staff on a weekly basis, and cases have started to climb. The veterans home reported another outbreak in April 2020, soon after the beginning of the pandemic. Still, due to the uptick in COVID-19 cases, the VLB has tightened some of its restrictions at the facility to help combat the spread. Dozens of hospitals, urgent care clinics and H-E-B pharmacies in Bexar County are slated to receive 30,200 doses of the Moderna vaccine this week. Made by Moderna, the vaccine requires two doses like the already approved Pfizer vaccine. The Moderna vaccine was endorsed by a government advisory panel on Thursday in a 20-0 vote. Some rural areas that had been waiting for word on when they would receive shipments will be included in week 2, data shows. Last week, nearly 30,000 doses of the Pfizer-made vaccine were shipped to San Antonio-area hospitals and military bases.

FLORESVILLE, Texas – A Floresville man is taking a chance and starting a business during the COVID-19 pandemic in his hometown. This was a life dream of mine, and I’m going to do it. I’m going to make it work,” Guevara said. The Floresville EDC said it has already distributed more than $64,000 to small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic using sales tax money. UHS girls take on Floresville in district soccer tomorrow
At Floresville tomorrow night, the Uvalde Lobos will play their final road soccer match of the regular season as they face battle the Floresville Jaguars. Sheriff confirms death at Wilson County Jail after man's bizarre arrest at Walmart

The man, whose name has not been publicly released, was apprehended by Floresville police after someone called 911 to report that the man was attempting to enter a ladies dressing room at a Walmart, Tackitt said. When police arrived, the man was lying next to a checkout counter and screaming, Tackitt said. Tackitt said the man was supposed to be taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation but died before he could be taken. KSAT reached out to the Floresville police department for comment but has not heard back.
