Trial begins for one of three men charged in 2022 murder over rent money Joshua Walls faces up to life in prison if found guilty
SAN ANTONIO – The murder trial for a man accused of a fatal shooting in 2022 is expected to start on Tuesday.
Joshua Walls is one of three accused in the murder of 32-year-old Christopher Vargas .
On Dec. 30, 2022, Vargas was found fatally shot in his home in the 3200 block of Nantucket Drive.
According to the arrest affidavit, Walls was called by Peter Balraj because he was having trouble getting rent owed to him by Vargas.
According to the affidavit, Walls later told police that he shot Vargas, and that Adrian Gomez went with him to Vargas’ home.
All three men were later arrested and charged with murder.
Balraj and Gomez are still awaiting trial.
If found guilty, Walls faces up to life in prison.
