The Big Give 2020: Youth Orchestras of San Antonio (YOSA)

How you can help local teen musicians

SAN ANTONIO – Looking for a worthy cause? The Big Give is tomorrow and you can help young San Antonio musicians foster a lifelong love of the arts.

Fiona spoke to Youth Orchestras of San Antonio (YOSA) music director Troy Peters on Wednesday about the teen music program and how it’s helping to transform children into world class musicians.

“You know, the kids who go through the YOSA experience don’t all become professional musicians, but they all develop a larger sense of their potential,” Peters said. “We offer financial aid and scholarships to kids who can’t afford to pay tuition to be in YOSA and we also support additional resources for kids in poverty, like private lessons on their instrument, scholarships for summer camps and things like that.”

You can give to YOSA right now on The Big Give 2020 website, and you can learn more about the local nonprofit and how to audition on the YOSA website.
