SAN ANTONIO – Today at 10:30 a.m., candy rankings, a new burger stop and a camp that hires year-round.
TOP FIVE HALLOWEEN CANDIES
Recommended Videos
With Halloween four days out, the hosts worked through a ranking of the five best trick-or-treat candies, according to “Food and Wine”, pulling each one from a prop spell book. Skittles landed at five, Kit Kat at four, Snickers at three and plain M&M’s next, with some mild protest from the desk in favor of the peanut version. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup took the top spot, to no one’s surprise. Viewers were pointed to an on-screen QR code to weigh in with their own go-to.
BURGER BOY
The San Antonio chain’s 11th location opened on the far southwest side, and the show had a look inside the day before the crowds arrived. The new store sits at 2304 W Loop 1604 S, at Marbach and 1604, a location announced more than a year ago. The first 10 customers in the drive-through and dine-in each got a $50 gift card, with merchandise handed out through the day. The seasonal attraction is a Twix shake, blended with caramel and actual Twix candy, which drops to $1.99 on Halloween as the shake of the month. More at burgerboy.com. MORGAN’S CAMP
A sponsored segment for Morgan’s took the show out to the ultra-accessible, year-round camp, where seasonal positions are open. The camp runs on a partner model that few others in the country use: outside organizations and nonprofit groups bring their own campers, staff, medical teams and leadership, and Morgan’s provides the staff who run the experience. Every group’s schedule is customized, with directors choosing from activities like the ropes course, horses and archery. Because seasonal staff aren’t responsible for direct camper supervision, the program manager said they focus on running activities instead. What they’re looking for, he said, is people willing to work hard and stay flexible. Applications go through the now hiring tab at morganscamp.org.
SOUTH SAN ANTONIO BUICK GMC
With Halloween falling on a Saturday, the Southside dealership is throwing a trunk-or-treat with candy, prizes and Halloween contests. There are 2027 models on the lot already, but the pitch was on the 2026 inventory still needing to move, with discounts and rates as low as 0%. The segment was sponsored by South San Antonio Buick GMC; its on-screen offers listed 1.9% on the entire Buick lineup and 0% for 60 months on GMC Sierra 1500s.
TEXAS BREAST SPECIALISTS
For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, two breast surgeons with Texas Breast Specialists talked through what mammograms do and don’t cover. Annual screening matters because changes show up year to year, they said, but so does knowing your own baseline: new lumps, skin changes or nipple inversion are worth getting checked. They also noted that men can be at risk, particularly with a family history of breast, ovarian or pancreatic cancer, or relatives diagnosed young. The practice treats benign breast disease too, from short-interval follow-up on an abnormal mammogram to cysts and breast pain, and performs formal risk assessments that can lead to additional screening. Their advice to anyone hesitating: don’t panic, and start with a provider you trust. More at TexasBreastSpecialists.com. The segment was sponsored by Texas Breast Specialists.
MUERTOS FEST PRIMETIME SPECIAL
Anyone who missed the three-day festival honoring Dia de los Muertos gets another look at it: KSAT airs a two-hour primetime Muertos Fest special tomorrow at 8 p.m. across all platforms. More than 80 altars built by community members were part of the event.
