Big Game Coverage Road Trip: Week 6 Preview

SOUTH TEXAS – It's time to travel around South Texas for the Big Game Coverage Road Trip. Three games, six teams and a lot of Friday night football festivities.

Game 1: Boerne Greyhounds (5-0) at Wimberley Texans (5-0). This battle of undefeated teams will feature two of the best quarterbacks in the area in Brooks Klutts and JoJo Weeks. Boerne QB Klutts has 1,239 yards passing, 16 touchdown passes with 4 interceptions. Weeks has 1,523 yards in the air, with 15 touchdown passes and one interception.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. Friday at Texan Stadium.

Game 2: Austin Akins Eagles (1-3) vs. Canyon Lake Hawks (3-2). The Hawks won last season’s contest, 42-20, thanks to 469 yards rushing. The Eagles had difficulty stopping the Hawks Slot-T offensive attack. Austin Akins can except much of the same in this contest.

Kick is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Hawk Stadium in Fischer.

Game 3: Central Catholic Buttons (5-0) at Navarro Panthers (5-0). The Buttons have rolled over their first five opponents outscoring them 181-38. Navarro is coming off a huge win versus Refugio, 21-17 to extend their regular season winning streak to 28 games and their home winning streak to 18 straight. Central and Navarro have only met once, with the Panthers winning 56-34 in 2016.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. Friday at Erwin-Lee Field in Geronimo.

All games are non-district. You can catch the highlights Friday night on the Nightbeat and at BigGameCoverage.com. For score updates throughout the night, follow us on Twitter @KSATbgc.
