The two attorneys are vying to win the March 1 Democratic primary for the civil district court seat, in what has been the most contentious race for a judge position in Bexar County in recent memory.

The most contentious race for a district judge position in Bexar County in recent memory has added another layer of intrigue after court records revealed one of the candidates was accused of defaulting on more than $100,000 in student loans and interest.

The virtual hearing, which lasted nearly six hours over two days, was held weeks after Lisa Uresti-Dasher’s opponent in the primary, Nadine Nieto, filed a lawsuit seeking to have Uresti-Dasher removed from the ballot.

A lawsuit filed last month by 285th District Court candidate Nadine Nieto accuses her opponent in the March Democratic primary, Lisa Uresti-Dasher, of having multiple discrepancies on her sworn application for the position.
