Anthony Bourdain's possessions fetch $150,000+ in New Braunfels auction

SAN ANTONIO - Late chef Anthony Bourdains possessions sold for thousands of dollars in New Braunfels last week. "The Collection of Anthony Bourdain" totaled $1,846,575 when the auction closed on Oct. 30, according to a news release. In the New Braunfels exhibit specifically, auctioned items totaled to nearly $160,000. In New York City, Bourdains items sold at eye-opening prices: a custom Bob Kramer steel and meteorite chefs knife fetched $231,250. Forty percent of auction sales were donated to the Anthony Bourdain Legacy Scholarship at The Culinary Institute of America, according to a past KSAT report.

Neville said in a statement that "Anthony Bourdain did more to help us understand each other than just about anyone in the history of television." "I'm thrilled to be re-teaming with Focus Features after our journey on 'Won't You Be My Neighbor?,'" Neville added. "I am also happy that HBO Max will make sure Tony's audience only continues to grow." Bourdain was filming an episode of his award-winning CNN series "Parts Unknown" in France when he took his own life last year.

Actor and comedian Eddie Murphy said in a video tribute Chappelle is the type of person who is "so much smarter than everyone." "Dave is one of the most, maybe the most, intellectual comedian ever," Murphy said. Among the possessions being auctioned are pieces of art from Ralph Steadman and John Lurie, both of whom were featured on Bourdain's show "Parts Unknown." Known for his showcasing of global cuisines through shows like "Parts Unknown" and "No Reservations," along with his writing ability in books like "Kitchen Confidential," Bourdain's death shook many.

'Game Of Thrones' led Creative Arts Emmy wins

Amazon's popular comedy "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" also did well during the night, with a total of six wins. Heading into the Primetime Emmy Awards next Sunday, HBO leads networks and streaming services with 25 wins, followed closely by Netflix with 23.
