Column: National Republicans have gone all in on the Newsom recall. Theyโ€™re doing him a big favor

In 2003, amid Californiaโ€™s tumultuous gubernatorial recall election, President George W. Bush visited the state and had this to say about the campaign: Nothing. โ€œAnd Iโ€™m looking forward, like you are, to seeing the outcome.โ€The Republican National Committee kept similarly mum throughout the campaign, which ended in Democrat Gray Davisโ€™ ouster and replacement by Hollywood super-duper-star Arnold Schwarzenegger. One bill in particular โ€” a law giving driverโ€™s licenses to undocumented immigrants โ€” was highly unpopular among the broader electorate and helped lead to Davisโ€™ recall.

Why Linda Hamilton Found Saying Arnold Schwarzenegger's Iconic 'I'll Be Back'

Terminator: Dark Fate marks a return to form for the long-running franchise -- including the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the eponymous combat robot and Linda Hamilton as the iconic hero Sarah Connor, and at 63, Hamilton hasn't lost a beat when it comes to being a badass action star. Schwarzenegger, however, had nothing but effusive praise for Hamilton -- both as an actress and as a de facto role model and leader for her co-stars. Maria Shriver wants us all to stop scrolling and start talking

(CNN) - When Maria Shriver hosts dinner for her family every Sunday, she has one rule -- no phones at the table. She wants to get people talking, to gain back what we've lost in the age of TikTok and Instagram. "[Talking] makes me feel understood, makes me feel I'm looking at someone and I'm finding common ground. And I think I'm having a shared experience. You don't have to work with what I'm working with or what your dad's working with, but you have to find some way to be of service.

'Terminator: Dark Fate' blasts path to its origins

(CNN) - When the Terminator warned "I'll be back" 35 years ago, no one could have foreseen how true that catchphrase would become. Even so, "Terminator: Dark Fate" represents a welcome return to the its origins, with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton reprising their roles, adding nostalgia and mythological heft that separates it from everything that has followed "Judgment Day." The intent was to position "Dark Fate" as a direct sequel to the first two films, ignoring the three additional sequels (and an actually pretty good Fox TV series) that rolled off the assembly line in between. "Dark Fate" earns its favorable judgment by cleverly and effectively adding to that legacy. "Terminator: Dark Fate" premieres Nov. 1 in the US.
