Richard Chamberlain, the handsome hero of the 1960s television series “Dr. Kildare” who found a second career as “king of the miniseries,” has died at age 90.

Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman has been found dead at his home.

One person was killed, a police officer was wounded and a man has been detained following a shooting Monday at a high school in the east Tennessee city of Knoxville, authorities said, adding that the scene had been secured.
