The 32-year-old Moore was a candidate at his alma mater after Bryan Harsin took the Auburn job. Moore was the winningest quarterback in college football history with a 50-3 record when he left Boise State in 2011.
Cowboys, Giants need a win and Washington loss for playoffs
The Cowboys (6-9) will try to extend their winning streak to four games when they travel to the Meadowlands to face the New York Giants (5-10) on Sunday. A Washington loss opens the door for Dallas and New York, which is on a three-game skid. A Dallas win and Washington loss gives the Cowboys and new coach Mike McCarthy the division. A Giants victory and a Washington loss gives New York the division crown based on head-to-head play among the three teams. The Giants have been without running back Saquon Barkley (ACL) since the second game of the season.

(AP Photo/Steve Marcus, File)Auburn hired Boise State's Bryan Harsin as its head coach on Tuesday, luring him away from his alma mater and into the powerful Southeastern Conference. āIām incredibly excited and humbled for the opportunity to be at a place like Auburn University,ā Harsin said in a statement. Harsin has a proven track record as a head coach, more so than any Auburn coach in recent memory. Boise State won at least nine games in each of his first six seasons.
Army left out in Bowl Day marred by cancellations, opt outs

For the Hokies, the decision ended a 27 straight bowl game run. Some of the canceled bowl games ā 15 in all, including three on Sunday alone ā included the Bahamas Bowl, Celebration Bowl, Hawaii Bowl, Holiday Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl, LA Bowl, Pinstripe Bowl, Quick Lane Bowl, Redbox Bowl and Sun Bowl.
