Impeachment begins in the House, the lower chamber, which debates and votes on whether to bring charges against the president via approval of an impeachment resolution, or articles of impeachment, by a simple majority of the bodys members. Clintons Senate impeachment trial, which did not end in a conviction, lasted five weeks. In 1998, when Republicans had a House majority, the chamber voted largely along party lines to impeach Clinton, a Democrat. Erin Schaff/Pool via REUTERSWHO BECOMES PRESIDENT IF TRUMP IS REMOVED? WITNESS FIONA HILL, FORMER NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL SENIOR DIRECTOR FOR EUROPE AND RUSSIA:Some of you on this committee appear to believe that Russia and its security services did not conduct a campaign against our country - and that perhaps, somehow, for some reason, Ukraine did. This is a fictional narrative that has been perpetrated and propagated by the Russian security services themselves.Right now, Russias security services and their proxies have geared up to repeat their interference in the 2020 election. This is the company co-owned by Suzy Gonzles, who led the workshop attended by 11 students in an ENGL 1302 Composition 2, taught by Adjunct David Hale. Gonzles and her partner, Elle Minter, opened Yes Maam, which distributes zines, in 2011.
