AP source: Red Sox to rehire Cora, manager from 2018 title
The Red Sox rehired Cora as manager Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, less than a year after letting him go because of his role in the Houston Astros cheating scandal. Cora joined the Red Sox in November 2017 and led Boston to the 2018 World Series title after a franchise-record 108 regular-season wins. The fallout from the Astros investigation also cost Houston manager AJ Hinch and newly hired New York Mets manager Carlos Beltrán their jobs. Ron Roenicke, promoted from bench coach to Cora's replacement, was let go after the salary-shedding Red Sox stumbled to a last-place finish in the AL East. And the Red Sox have plenty of salary flexibility gained in the deal that sent Betts and Price to Los Angeles.
Orgeron: Most LSU players have had, recovered from COVID-19
Most of LSU's football players have contracted and recovered from COVID-19, coach Ed Orgeron said Tuesday, leaving the coaching staff hopeful those players will remain eligible to play the bulk of the season before they have to be tested again. “I think, not all of our players, but most of our players have caught it,” Orgeron said during a video conference, adding later that he did not know the percentage of the roster that had tested positive. “So we look at the players that have caught it and say, ‘OK these guys should be eligible,’" Orgeron continued. So we’re looking at our roster in that manner.”Orgeron did not go into detail about whether any LSU players who tested positive have experienced symptoms. LSU officials have declined to make public precise counts or even percentages of players who have tested positive for antibodies or the disease itself.

Red Sox's Rodriguez awaits test on COVID-related heart issue
BOSTON Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez said he is awaiting results of additional testing after doctors recently discovered an issue with his heart they believe is a result of his recent bout with COVID-19. The 27-year-old left-hander tested positive for the coronavirus before the start of summer camp, but was cleared and returned to workouts on July 18. He hasnt had another positive coronavirus test, but said an MRI revealed a condition called myocarditis, that the teams medical staff felt was serious enough to shut him down for at least a week. That's why the doctors tell me to just take a week, just rest, don't let your heart get too much heart rate, he said. Rodriguez is unsure of how long it will take for him to be ready to pitch in a game.
Red Sox shut down Rodriguez after coronavirus setback

Some Washington players did not take part in workouts, including Starlin Castro, Juan Soto, Howie Kendrick and Victor Robles.
