A Hays High School student was arrested Thursday for possessing a firearm while on campus, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Officials with Comal and Hays Consolidated Independent School Districts are at odds over the alleged use of racial slurs in a volleyball game on Sept. 2.

Comal Independent School District is investigating after Canyon High School students allegedly made “highly inappropriate and demeaning racial comments” during a volleyball game Friday night.
