It was supposed to be a red wave that former President Donald Trump could triumphantly ride to the GOP nomination as he prepares to launch another White House run.

About 76% of the votes are in and Biden led by roughly 11,000 votes Thursday afternoon. Under state law, they can still be accepted so long as they were postmarked by the Nov. 3 Election Day. Two days after Election Day, neither candidate had amassed the votes needed to win the White House. Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien said the president would formally request a Wisconsin recount, citing “irregularities” in several counties. Several states allow mailed-in votes to be accepted after Election Day as long as they were postmarked by Tuesday.
